REVIEW: 8 Snacks Have Hit Disney World Hotels, and We Tried Them ALL!

Sometimes, some of the best snacks around Disney World are actually hiding around the Disney World hotels, which is why you’ll find us heading to them pretty frequently to check out all the latest and greatest snacks available.

Sorcerer’s Apprentice Chocolate Hat

Well, we’ll be the first to admit that they’re not all winners, as much as we’d like them to be. Just like dining in the parks, some items are a swing and a miss. We recently headed to some of Disney World’s Value Resorts to check out EIGHT of the new snacks available, and we’ll tell you now, while some were brilliant, others were a one-and-done.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Starting out strong, there are FOUR new snacks available at Landscape of Flavors, the dining location available at Art of Animation. First, we’ve got the absolutely adorable Mater Chocolate Pit Stop for $6.79, which is Caramel-Chocolate Mousse, Brownie, and Whipped Cream.

Mater Chocolate Pit Stop

The mousse is light and airy with a bouncy texture, almost like gelatin. The treat as a whole is smooth and not very rich, and the chocolate flavor itself honestly doesn’t come through as much as we thought it would, as the chocolate cake layer is stiff and a bit flavorless. Unfortunately, this one was a tougher, thicker dessert that we didn’t feel was worth the cost, so we wouldn’t get it again — we think chocolate lovers especially will be extra disappointed.

Not great

We also grabbed the Chocolate-Marshmallow-Hazelnut Croissant for $6.49, which is Chocolate-Hazelnut Ganache, Toasted Marshmallow, and Graham Cracker Pieces.

Chocolate-Marshmallow-Hazelnut Croissant

This thing is MESSY! This one is so sweet it almost leans sickly sweet, and it has so much hazelnut filling inside, we think there’s an entire mini tub in each croissant. We were pleasantly surprised that the top is marshmallows, not merengues, but we don’t know if the treat needed the extra sweetness. It’s definitely a treat we recommend sharing, even though it is wildly messy, as it’s so sweet. We were afraid that if we ate more than half, we’d be in sugar overload.

There’s a TON of filling inside

We also snagged the Mickey-shaped Peanut Butter Brownie for $5.99, which is made with Chocolate Chips, Crunchy Peanut Butter-Chocolate Bar Pieces, and M&M’S® Peanut Butter chocolate candies.

Mickey-shaped Peanut Butter Brownie

This was SUPER nostalgic for us, as it reminded us of the Mickey-shaped brownies many of the resorts used to sell in the early 2000s, but this one has peanut M&Ms on top instead of sprinkles. The brownie itself is super soft, so the M&Ms give it a great crunchy texture, and the peanut butter drizzle helps to bring a little saltiness forward to balance out the sweetness. The portion size is fantastic too, so this one gets two thumbs-up from us!

We’re big fans of this one!

For a savory note, we’ve got the new Crispy Chicken Parmesan Sandwich for $13.19, which is made with Marinara, Mozzarella, and Parmesan Cheese on a Ciabatta Roll served with Chips.

Crispy Chicken Parmesan Sandwich

This one is made-to-order, so it will take some time, but we felt it was worth it, especially because the portion size is easily enough to feed two people! The overall flavor leans heavily on the red sauce, and sometimes it’s enough to overpower the flavor of the chicken, though it is tender and has good flavor. It may not be our favorite sandwich, but we do feel it’s a solid option, especially for those who typically enjoy chicken parm!

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

Available at World Premiere Food Court, you can find the Sorcerer’s Apprentice Chocolate Hat for $6.49, which is made with Chocolate Crémeux and Strawberry Ganache.

Sorcere’s Apprentice Chocolate Hat

We loved how smooth this mousse was, as there wasn’t a trace of grit at all, but we do wish the strawberry had been balanced out a little more with the chocolate, as it was pretty rich and took center stage. We did enjoy and appreciate that the cookie on the bottom was soft and easy to cut through, but it does mean the texture in this snack is all one note. We think fans of dark chocolate treats will especially love this one!

Super smooth!

We also grabbed the Alien Blondie for $5.79, which is a Blondie with Chocolate.

Alien Blondie

This was adorable, but it unfortunately did NOT live up taste-wise. The base is supposed to be a Blondie, but we instead have a very dry, dense vanilla cake. The only flavor note is vanilla and unpleasantly dry vanilla cake, at that. The coating on the outside is green icing, but we only got the taste of sugar, no vanilla at all. Kids will love this, we’re sure, but for those looking for a solid sweet treat, this is far from our recommended list.

Super dry

We also snagged the Cookie Butter Cheesecake at this spot, which is $6.29. This is Cookie Butter Cheesecake topped with Marshmallow Buttercream and Cookie Pieces.

Cookie Butter Cheesecake

There was so much cream cheese flavor here that we honestly forgot it was supposed to be cookie butter flavored. The crust foundation was way too weak and crumbled too quickly, but the rest of the cheesecake itself was nice and smooth. It’s a pretty decent portion for the price, but we wouldn’t go out of our way for it since the flavors weren’t very balanced.

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

Finally, we stopped by Intermission Food Court for the Warm Hugs Chocolate Mousse. This will cost you $6.49 and is Hot Chocolate-Marshmallow Mousse.

Warm Hugs Chocolate Mousse

Is this one adorable? Absolutely, but that’s about where the good things end with it. It’s just mousse with fondant on the outside, which, to us, doesn’t taste the best. There are some large sugar crystals on top and large crispy puffs throughout that added some much-needed texture, but otherwise, it’s just soft all the way around. It’s very smooth, don’t get us wrong, but it’s super sweet, and we don’t think it’s anything super special.

Cute as can be, but not the most solid

As always, we’ll be here bringing you all the latest dining and snack reviews from around the resort, so you know what’s worth your money, so stay tuned to AllEars!
