NEWS: Construction Walls Are DOWN at the NEW Snack Stand in Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is in the midst of multiple construction projects, but it’s not only giant land additions like Piston Peak and Villains Land. There are also smaller construction projects happening that make wandering around the park harder than normal. We’ll admit, it feels a little like we’re navigating a maze with all these construction walls!

We’ve noticed small construction walls popping up around Tomorrowland over the past few months, and one of the most recent projects has been over near the former Cool Ship snack stand. This stand totally disappeared behind the walls back in September, and just recently, Disney quietly announced that Cool Ship wouldn’t be returning. Instead, it will be replaced by a new spot called AstroFizz, which we just got our first look at in Disney World!

AstroFizz is the new snack stand location coming to Tomorrowland on November 7th (or sooner if Disney attempts a soft open!). In the meantime, it’s great to see what it’s looking like now that the construction walls are GONE.

The description for the new snack stand reads, “Fuel up at this space-age stand featuring buttery popcorn and fluffy cotton candy. Then, before you blast off again, cool off with a refreshing beverage—like frozen slushies or assorted Coca-Cola Fountain Beverages.” This means it’ll serve pretty similar options to what you could have found at Cool Ship previously.

We also know, thanks to the new sign, that it’ll be open from park open to park close each day, but that’s all we’ve got for now! We’re looking forward to learning more information, hopefully soon, since it seems like this spot is getting ready to open sooner rather than later.

While we’re looking forward to this new spot, we will miss Cool Ship and its iconic look! This wasn’t an overly popular snack stand, that’s for sure, but it was a staple in this area of the park, so we’re sad to see it go. Goodbye to the misting Cool Ship!
