NEWS: A Big Change Just Hit Magic Kingdom, Revamping an EMPTY Part of Tomorrowland

A big change just hit Magic Kingdom, and it’s an interesting one.

If you’ve ever been to Tomorrowland, you might have noticed a red spaceship near the PeopleMover, on the way to Space Mountain. That is where the popcorn and snack stand, Cool Ship, used to be before it was removed for transformation. Well, it looks like the ship is getting ready to land again!

 

Cool Ship was a snack spot in Tomorrowland that offered water, soft drinks, popcorn, ice cream, and even a misting station for hot guests on a warm Florida day. It was a great go-to spot to recharge!

A few months ago, Cool Ship saw a huge change. When we say change, we mean the entire area was covered with construction walls, and Cool Ship was completely removed. Like, it was GONE!

For a few months, Disney has been making massive progress. We recently took a ride on the PeopleMover (because, duh, you have to when you go to Magic Kingdom) and saw a new building where Cool Ship used to be located. However, this building looked totally different — Cool Ship got a whole new makeover!

This new Cool Ship, if it’s still going to be called that, has a whole new modern look. There isn’t a red spaceship anymore, but it still has a “futuristic” style.

It appears that this new Cool Ship has more windows, and the colors look bright and fun, with teal and red mixed in a bright new color scheme. The building’s white paint job complements the theme of Tomorrowland as a whole.

Disney hasn’t mentioned anything about a reopening date, but according to the Disney World website, it is scheduled to reopen sometime later this year. We also don’t know if there will be changes to the menu or if the old menu will make a return. We’re down for some fun new menu items!

Make your way to Tomorrowland to take a look. While you’re there, you can try out the new look at TRON Lightcycle / Run. Disney has changed the color of the Grid from blue to red as we get ready for the release of Tron: Ares. It’s a unique and interesting new experience!
