Disney Reveals New Park Map for Animal Kingdom, And We’re Not Sure You’re Going to Like It

Animal Kingdom has made a new change!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A lot has been going on surrounding Disney’s Animal Kingdom. From closures to announcements, the park is in the midst of some major changes. To align with everything that’s been happening, we noticed a new change at the park, and we wanted to share it with you.

News has been buzzing around Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand U.S.A. The popular dinosaur-themed playground for kids, The Boneyard, has permanently closed. It officially closed as of September 2nd, which means the kiddos won’t have their prehistoric playground any longer.

The Boneyard has been closed!

With the playground closing, all of one side of DinoLand U.S.A. is now about to undergo a complete transformation. To match the changes happening at the park, Disney has updated Animal Kingdom’s park maps.

We grabbed a guide map and took a peek inside. Disney is quick at the changes, because we saw that half of DinoLand in the map is gone — you’ll just find trees in the area.

Dinoland is changing!

All DinoLand has left on the map is the Dinosaur ride and the dining spots. We can’t be the only ones who feel a little sad looking at this thing. If you take a look at the detailed list of what the land has to offer, you’ll find that it only lists a few remaining attractions.

We also flipped over to the “Alive With Magic” section to check out the Dinoland U.S.A. description. You’ll find that it says, “2025 is the year to visit DinoLand U.S.A. before it goes extinct.”

Dinoland is going extinct!

This really is the year to experience everything (else) that DinoLand has to offer. We knew the whole land, including Dinosaur, would be closing at some point next year. Now, Disney has announced the official closing date for the popular attraction!

Dinosaur

The fan favorite attraction, Dinosaur, along with The Dino Institute Shop, Restaurantosaurus, and Restaurantosaurus Lounge, will all be closing on February 2nd, 2026.

DinoLand U.S.A.

All of this is happening as Disney prepares the massive transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into the Tropical Americas-themed Pueblo Esperanza. As hard as it is to say goodbye to DinoLand, we can’t wait to see what this new Tropical Americas will look like. It’s going to feature an amazing dining experience and two E-Ticket attractions — one themed to Encanto, and the other to Indiana Jones.
