NEW LOOK at the Changes Happening Behind the Scenes at This Exclusive Magic Kingdom Lounge

Can you believe that Magic Kingdom is getting not one but TWO new lounges?

The first is the Pirates Tavern Lounge located over in Adventureland, but you’ll also be able to visit the McKim’s Mile House Disney Vacation Club Lounge later this year as well, which will live where the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade used to be located. We’re keeping a close eye on construction on ALL the projects around Disney World, but we noticed something extra interesting over in Frontierland recently.

While we still haven’t seen the McKim’s Mile House sign appear on the building yet, but we’ve noticed a lot of activity over near the site recently.

In fact, if we look closely enough, we can see that the construction workers have walled off the former shooting area with stones and a door. This makes us think that there’s a LOT going on inside right now, but Imagineers don’t want anyone seeing what’s happening behind-the-scenes!

When you’re walking in Frontierland, you won’t really be able to see anything from the ground, as these big old walls block your view.

McKim’s Mile House is set to open this summer! If you’re curious about the name, a mile house is “a roadhouse or rest stop that was established during the Gold Rush to mark a mile from an important destination.” Sam McKim was an artist whose drawings inspired many Disney films and theme park attractions. He is best known as the creator of the Disneyland souvenir maps.

DVC members and their guests will have exclusive access to this lounge and will enjoy a relaxing space with lots of seating and refreshments. Sounds like a great escape from the Magic Kingdom crowds!
