ALERT! Magic Kingdom Is SOLD OUT This Weekend for Annual Passholders and We Know Why

This coming weekend is shaping up to be BUSY at Disney World.

Memorial Day Decorations in Magic Kingdom

This coming Friday is an important day in the Magic Kingdom’s RECENT history, as it will see the public grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Despite technical issues during previews, as well as some criticism of its layout and story, the new attraction is highly anticipated and judging by certain available metrics, is about to draw some HUGE crowds to Walt Disney World’s original theme park despite the weather forecast.

UPDATED June 27that 9AM: Park Passes have been refilled for Annual Passholders at Magic Kingdom on June 29th and 30th. Availability is constantly fluctuating, so this may change again.

Currently, Magic Kingdom has NO reservations available for Annual Passholders on Friday, June 28th, Saturday, June 29th, or Sunday, June 30th!

It makes some sense that Annual Passholders would be flocking to the Magic Kingdom to experience Tiana’s Bayou Adventure this weekend, given that the Annual Passholder Previews for the attraction ran into some issues. For starters, available Magic Kingdom reservations for Annual Passholder Preview Days sold out FAST. From there, there was the time commitment needed to secure a spot in the ride’s virtual queue (at 7:00AM and 1:00PM for those who had secured a Magic Kingdom reservation, and only 1:00PM for those who secured a reservation at one of the resort’s other theme parks and planned to park hop over).

On top of that, IF an Annual Passholder secured a spot in the virtual queue, there was the need to be available for whatever time your boarding group was called, be it quickly or much later on. And of course, there were the technical difficulties the ride experienced that often led to delays and and even the cessation of previews all-together on some days.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

For those braving Magic Kingdom to attempt to ride Tiana’s Bayou Adventure next weekend, there will be two ways to do so initially. The first will be a virtual queue, offered at 7:00AM and 1:00PM, and the second will be a Lightning Lane available to those using the Genie+ service. Of note, the ride will not be offering a standby queue or individually sold Lightning Lane during its initial opening period.
