Every week it seems, we spot a new change to the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride!

Over the weekend, we spotted these lanterns that had just been hung at the top of the lift hill on the track, and we saw even more lantern were in place today!
Last week, we got a new weathervane mounted on the ride …

And we see more of the scaffolding that surrounds the mountain being taken down!

We go to Disney World every day, and so we have been keeping a close eye on al of these changes since Splash Mountain permanetly closed a year ago to be transformed into this brand new ride! It’s safe to say our excitement builds every time we see a change!

Disney has not yet given us an opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but we noticed something recently that is making us wonder if it will open earlier than we expected.

When this ride was announced in 2022, Disney told us it would open “in late 2024.” Now Disney is very careful with the way it talks about opening timelines. Late 2024 would mean at least October, and possibly even November or December of this year.

Last week, when Disney shared the story of the weathervane for the ride in a blog post, they said the new ride would be opening “in 2024.” Now, we would be very surprised if this change in language was an accident. Disney is typically very deliberate and precise in discussing timelines. So, could Tiana’s Bayou Adventure be opening earlier this year?!

While we have seen other recent Disney World construction projects seemingly stall for days or weeks at a time, we spot multiple crews working on this ride daily. It’s possible that Disney was allowing for the supply chain delays or labor shortages it had been dealing with (along with everyone else) for the past couple of years, and those have impacted this particular project less than expected.

We won’t know an exact opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure until Disney decides to release it, of course, and they are opening the huge addition to Tokyo Disneyland Resort — Fantasy Springs — in June, so we don’t expect this new ride to open before that.
We’ll keep watching for more signs of when you (and we!) will get to experience this ride! Keep following us at Allears for the latest!

Hi AllEars Team!
I can’t wait for this new Magic Kingdom ride. Although it’s sad to see Splash Mountain go, I can’t wait for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! Will y’all be going to Fantasy Springs opening at Tokyo Disneyland?
I’m waiting for the closing date. Then maybe they can try again somewhere else and open Splash back up.
