It’s finally here!

Tomorrow, Disney will not only be celebrating its 100th Anniversary but also opening an attraction at EPCOT after YEARS of development!
The long-awaited Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana has already undergone a soft opening, but it OFFICIALLY opens for good tomorrow, October 16th. The attraction is based on Disney’s animated film Moana (2016) and was initially announced all the way back in 2019.
After four years of development limbo that was supposed to see the attraction open during Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration, the day has finally come when the public can experience this water-themed attraction.

Upon opening, Journey of Water is likely to maintain using a virtual queue and will still limit crowds. Regardless, we think this attraction offers something for the whole family, making it a worthwhile stop during your next EPCOT visit. If this is the first you’ve heard of Journey of Water or don’t know much about the new EPCOT attraction, don’t worry! We’ve got you covered!

Located in World Nature at EPCOT, Journey of Water is a self-guided outdoor trail where you can interact with water. Mirroring Moana’s playful relationship with water in the movie, you can interact with the water just as she did during her journey.
Not only is this trail interactive, but it is also full of interesting tidbits. You’ll learn about the global water cycle during your trek as well as how you can help protect this natural resource while making a positive impact on the world.

For those that are weary of getting wet — don’t worry! Journey of Water offers a dry path! This option helps to create a unique experience each time you visit and caters to guests who want to experience everything this attraction has to offer.

Like most outdoor attractions, Journey of Water is subject to close during inclement weather. Additionally, wheelchair access is ONLY available on the dry path and service animals must remain on the dry path, as well.

The wait for Journey of Water has been a long one and we’re so pumped that it’s finally here! As always, we’ll continue to bring you the latest EPCOT and Walt Disney World news so stay tuned!
