Watch Out for a Ride CLOSURE in Disney's Hollywood Studios This Week

There’s a LOT to do in Disney World, including ride roller coasters, watch shows, try delicious snacks, and stay late to see the fireworks. But there’s one very popular attraction that WON’T be open at all next week!

Hollywood Studios

If you’re planning to visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios next week, you’ll need to know about this closure and a few other refurbishments happening around Disney World that might affect your vacation. Check out this list of the closures in Disney World from May 14th through the 20th.

Magic Kingdom Closures

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Splash Mountain closed on January 23rd, and it’ll remain closed until late 2024.

Construction

Disney is re-theming the ride to give it a Princess and the Frog theme. When it reopens, it’ll be called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. On a recent trip, we noticed that the tree stump at the top of this ride has been removed. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Closures

The Boneyard

The Boneyard is an interactive dinosaur-themed play area for kids in DinoLand U.S.A. This area is now closed for a long refurbishment (which started on May 1st).

The Boneyard is expected to reopen on June 13th.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios Closures

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster closed a while ago for the start of a long refurbishment.

This coaster will likely be closed for at least a few weeks, possibly a few months. Disney announced that it should reopen in the summer of 2023, although they did not provide a specific reopening date. For now, it’s scheduled to be closed at least through mid-July.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

This stage show about The Little Mermaid has been closed for a long time in Hollywood Studios.

Disney hasn’t announced when or if the show will reopen.

EPCOT Closures

Refreshment Station

This little snack kiosk near Test Track has been through a few different renovations. This spot now has a new sign that says “Refreshment Station,” and there appear to be new tables and benches inside.

Disney’s Blizzard Beach

Disney World’s Blizzard Beach Water Park has closed for refurbishments. Disney hasn’t announced how long this closure will last.
