Sometimes, Disney World parks close earlier than usual, even during the busy summer season.

This is why we always stress the importance of checking the official Disney World calendar when you’re planning a trip because there’s nothing more annoying than getting kicked out of a park earlier than you expected. We previously shared that EPCOT would have shortened hours one day in June and today is the day!
According to Disney World’s calendar, EPCOT will be closing at 8PM tonight (June 5th), which is an hour earlier than normal. Guests technically still have the same amount of time in the park during the day, though, as it opened an hour earlier to accommodate the change.

However, some attractions in EPCOT’s World Showcase will close even EARLIER than 8PMÂ — at 6PM. This includes the Beauty and the Beast Singalong, Japan’s Bijutsu-kan Gallery…

…Frozen Ever After, Morocco’s Gallery of Arts and History, Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros…

…the Mexico Folk Art Gallery…

…and Norway’s Stave Church Gallery.

Note that the early closure also means that guests will not be able to see EPCOT’s nighttime show, Harmonious.
So if you are headed to EPCOT today, plan accordingly and know that some attractions will close at 6PM, while all others (like Test Track, Mission: SPACE, and Soarin’) will remain open until EPCOT’s closing time of 8PM.

Now, if this news is taking you by surprise and you’re headed to EPCOT today, there are a few ways that you can shift your plans to still have a full day in Disney World! You can always head to Disney Springs for a little late-night dining, shopping, and even entertainment.
Or, Disney’s BoardWalk is within walking distance of EPCOT through the World Showcase entrance/exit and is home to the popular Dueling Piano Bar, Jelly Rolls, and you’ll also find an ice cream parlor and more there. You can also head over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — Riverside to be entertained by the shenanigans and music of Yee Ha Bob. Plus, almost every Disney resort has other activities you can participate in, including outdoor movies, so be sure to check with your resort for things to do!
And, if you’d prefer to take to another park to finish off your day, you can upgrade your ticket to a Park Hopper (for an additional cost) and head to any of the other three Disney Parks after 2PM.
Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more of the latest Disney World updates that you’ll need to know for your trip, so stay tuned to AllEars for more!
