The MOST Exciting Things Coming to Disney World in 2022
The Return of Celebrate Soulfully
Disney will be bringing back Celebrate Soulfully for Black History Month. This is a special event at both Disney World and Disneyland that highlights black history, art, and more. In the past, the event has brought special entertainment to both resorts, as well as delicious food and interesting exhibitions.

At Disney World, guests will get to enjoy a full line-up of Motown, pop, jazz, and R&B performers for free, as well as enjoy art from black creators. At EPCOT, the “The Soul of Jazz: An American Adventure” will return to the American Adventure Pavilion. There will also be a variety of unique food items available during the month throughout the resort.

At Disneyland, a special musical event called “Celebrate Gospel” will showcase a variety of performers for guests to enjoy. At Downtown Disney, Port 21, a special pop-up shop, will return with a cool collection of Black-owned merchandise. Other stores throughout Downtown Disney will also feature special Black History Month collections. There will also be unique food offerings throughout the resort.

Disney Cruise Line Relaxes COVID-19 Guidelines
Disney Cruise Line has made updates to its COVID-19 guidelines for guests who want to take a cruise with the company. Guests who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may still be able to sail on a Disney Cruise, although they “may still test positive for the [COVID-19] virus. If guests have tested positive for [COVID-19] within 11 to 90 days of their sail date, they may qualify to be considered as ’90-Day-Recovered.'”

This basically means that if a guest tested positive for COVID-19, that guest can still sail with Disney Cruise Line with “appropriate documentation and subsequent approval.” Those guests will not be required to take a COVID-19 test. Guests who have tested positive within 11-90 days of their sail date must upload their positive test result (along with their date of birth), a signed letter from a licensed healthcare provider, and proof of vaccination (if vaccinated).

Starbucks Price Increases Are Coming
With Disney World having Starbucks locations in its parks, guests visiting those parks will want to know that their morning cup of coffee is about to cost a little more. We’ve already recently seen a lot of price increases for food and drinks at Disney World (including at Starbucks locations), but more price increases are coming in 2022.

According to WESH 2 Orlando, Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said that price increases “play an important role to mitigate cost pressures, including inflation.”

Disney’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” Hits Another Milestone
The biggest banger of the year, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” from Disney’s Encanto, continues to be the earworm of the year. And most recently, the song became the number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song earned 34.9 million streams from January 21st through 27th.

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” also marks the first number one song on the Hot 100 for Walt Disney Records since 1992, when Aladdin’s “A Whole New World” soared to number one, according to Variety. The song’s writer, Lin Manuel Miranda, has also reached a milestone with the song — he’s the first person to write a number one song by himself since Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” in 2018.
