NEWS: Disney Cruise Line Shares Update Regarding COVID-19 Guidelines

Ever since the start of the pandemic, the Disney Cruise Line has continued to make changes and updates to the health and safety guidelines. A lot has changed since 2020 — both in the parks and at sea! While the mask policy, social distancing, and capacity limits have slowly started to relax, Disney continues to monitor the status of the pandemic, adjusting as necessary.

Now, we’ve got another update to share with you. If you’re planning a little getaway on a Disney Cruise, listen up!

The Disney Cruise Line just shared an update regarding their COVID-19 policy.

Have you ever taken a Disney Cruise?

Starting now, guests who recently recovered from COVID-19 may still be able to sail on a Disney Cruise. Disney explains, “In some cases, people who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may still test positive for the [COVID-19] virus. If guests have tested positive for [COVID-19] within 11 to 90 days of their sail date, they may qualify to be considered as ’90-Day-Recovered.’

This means that now, even if a passenger tested positive for COVID-19, the Disney Cruise Line will allow guests to sail with “appropriate documentation and subsequent approval.” As long as they have the proper clearances, these guests will not be required to take a COVID test.

Disney will require guests who tested positive for COVID-19 within 11-90 days of their sail date to upload their positive test result (with a date of birth), a signed letter from a licensed healthcare provider, and proof of vaccination (if vaccinated).

In the past, Disney’s rules were a little more strict, so it seems that this “90-Day-Recovered” status shows that Disney is relaxing their policy (for now). We’ll continue to monitor the website for any further changes, so stay tuned for updates!

  1. Does anyone know if you qualify for this 90 day recovery plan if you still have to test at the port before getting on the ship?
