We recently reported that the Festival of Fantasy parade is returning to Disney World soon, on March 9th! This parade features characters like Merida from Brave, Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and more.
But there’s one float that stands out from the rest, with steampunk-inspired designs and a fiery surprise. The Maleficent Dragon is one of the most impressive parade floats in Disney history, so many guests have been wondering if it will make its return when the parade reopens in Magic Kingdom. Now we have an answer for you!

During the media event with Disney, we got to take an up-close look at the steampunk-inspired Maleficent Dragon.

Molly even got to control the dragon’s tail, just like the Cast Members do during the parade. Turns out, that thing is heavier than we thought. Those Cast Members must really be in good shape!
Disney hasn’t announced the times for the parade yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we get that information.
In addition to the parade, Magic Kingdom will still have cavalcades, including the existing Mickeys’ Celebration Cavalcade (the one with the 50th Anniversary theme) and the NEW Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade.
