The holiday season is typically one of the busiest times of year at Disney World, as many families are on work or school vacation and have the time to travel.

That being said, we were wondering what the holiday season would look like this year in particular, with Disney World currently at 35% capacity as it continues its phased reopening.
Well, it looks like we don’t have to wonder any longer, because the crowds have officially arrived. We were exploring Magic Kingdom and EPCOT today and couldn’t help but notices lines, crowds, more lines, and more crowds!

With Thanksgiving being this week, it looks like more families took the opportunity to visit Disney World. Here are some more crowd shots taken in Fantasyland.

The crowds wrapped around Mad Tea Party.

The Fantasyland crowds extended into the New Fantasyland area.

We noticed crowding in Tomorrowland as well. Here’s a shot from today just outside the main entrance to Tomorrowland Speedway.

The crowds continue down to the restroom area and outside Auntie Gravity’s.

The standby queue for Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin wrapped all the way through Tomorrowland to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.

Over at EPCOT, we noticed crowds in both Future World and World Showcase. It can be hard to tell exactly how crowded it is at EPCOT due to the wide walkways and plentiful elbow room, but you know it’s a busy day at EPCOT when Journey Into Imagination has a 50 minute wait time! We also spotted long lines outside of Test Track.

The line extended quite a bit as you pull away from the front entrance of the attraction.

Over in World Showcase, the line for Lotus Blossom Cafe stretched across the China Pavilion!

We love the egg rolls from Lotus Blossom Cafe as much as the next person, but these kinds of lines are about as long as they get!

Speaking of lines in the China Pavilion…the queue for Frozen Ever After extended all the way into the main pavilion area!

Upon further inspection, we noticed that the standby wait time for Frozen Ever After was 80 minutes long.

We noticed a line to get into the Mexico Pavilion, and Cast Members told us that the wait to get inside was approximately 30-45 minutes. That’s not nearly as long as the two and a half HOUR long wait we saw a couple weeks ago, but still nothing to sniff at!

The line for Les Halles in the France Pavilion was also noticeably longer, with the queue stretched out past the main entrance.

That being said, there are still some pockets of EPCOT where the crowds were very dispersed, and almost non-existent. Here’s a view of the area between the Mexico and Norway Pavilions.

Disney World isn’t the only theme park in Central Florida getting a lot of attention from holiday travelers this week. Universal Orlando Resort is also quite busy, with both parks hitting capacity today. We’ll keep an eye on the holiday crowds this week and let you know about all the latest information!
