We’re less than a week away from two of the most popular Star Wars characters of the modern era — The Mandalorian himself and Grogu (AKA Baby Yoda for those of you unfamiliar with the galaxy far, far away) — making their on-ride debut on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

In conjunction with the release of the new Star Wars Mandalorian and Grogu feature film on May 22nd, Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run will see the addition of a new mission based on the titular characters.

According to Disney, as part of the new experience, the crew will be in control of their own destination, leading to potential adventures on Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor, or the just-announced bustling city-planet, Coruscant.

In addition, another new gameplay addition allows the engineer positions to communicate with Grogu, making them much more “important” to the ride’s overall story and narrative.

Debuting the new version of the ride on the same day as the film’s debut is a new move from Disney, as Disney Imagineer Asa Kalama shared when the ride was announced at SXSW last year. “Opening an attraction and such a massive movie on the same day wouldn’t be possible without the relationships we have inside Disney. Now we’ve all worked together to come up with a new mission for Smugglers Run that plays into this narrative.”

Starting May 22nd, 2026, new missions will be added to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort featuring the Mandalorian and Grogu.

Directed by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian and Grogu film stars series headliner Pedro Pascal, as well as Star Wars newcomers Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White. The film was produced by Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce, with music composed by Ludwig Göransson.

The addition of the mega-popular Mandalorian and Grogu characters, as well as major Star Wars locations like Bespin, Endor, and the ruins of the Death Star, is sure to reignite interest in Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run this summer. Stay tuned to AllEars for full coverage when the ride debuts.
