I Actually Can’t Believe People Still Do This at Magic Kingdom

Since its opening almost 55 years ago, the Magic Kingdom has become the world’s most popular theme park.

Over these decades, the park has changed a lot, and guest behavior has evolved along with it. However, there are some things we can’t believe guests are STILL doing in 2026.

Not Realizing They Have to Park at the TTC

The Magic Kingdom does not have a direct parking lot — a design choice made to keep the area around the park from becoming overdeveloped like Disneyland in Anaheim — and guests must park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and take the Monorail or watercraft to the park’s entrance. Despite this being the case SINCE 1971, some guests are still surprised they can’t simply park right next to the park.

Looking for the Steamboat in Frontierland

It’s been almost a year since the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island closed to make way for Piston Peak construction. However, these opening-day Magic Kingdom attractions are still missed by many guests, who see them as emblematic of classic Walt Disney World. Not to mention the number of “less-plugged-in” guests who don’t even realize the classics are gone until they arrive to find construction walls and dirt piles.

Think They Can Dine Without a Reservation.

There was a time when Disney World restaurants didn’t require a reservation, but that hasn’t been the case for years. However, guests who are visiting for the first time — or the first time in a long time — might be caught off guard to know that they’re likely not going to eat where they want/when they want without making a reservation beforehand.

Specifically, reservations can be made 60 days in advance, and Disney World hotel guests can begin booking 60 days out from the first day of their vacation for up to two weeks.

They Think Be Our Guest Breakfast is Still Available

Back in the mid-2010s, the popular Beauty and the Beast-themed restaurant began offering breakfast. However, guests visiting for the first time in a decade and looking forward to an open-faced egg and poached-bacon sandwich will be disappointed to know that the early morning meal was eliminated after COVID.

They Don’t Take Advantage of the My Disney Experience App

From Lightning Lanes, showtimes, and  Mobile Order to merchandise checkout, dining reservations, and walk-up waitlists, the Walt Disney World app has become an integral part of a Walt Disney World vacation over the last decade. While it’s understandable that some guests may find that cumbersome, there’s no denying that skipping the app will be detrimental to anyone’s Magic Kingdom day.

They Skip Starlight

While the nightly fireworks spectacular – these days, it’s Happily Ever After –  will always be the major draw for end-of-night guests, no one should sleep on Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. The new nighttime spectacular – the park’s first after-dark parade in years, which opened in 2025 –  features characters from several Disney films, including Moana, Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen, and Pinocchio. The show is filled with sparkly lights, stunning floats, and beloved characters.

A lot has changed at the Magic Kingdom over the years, but some guests haven’t caught up. Stay tuned to AllEars for more on Disney World guest behavior.
