Among Disney World’s construction across its parks and hotels, there’s a NEW hotel being built that’s currently on the schedule to open in 2027.

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is being built on the former home of Disney’s River Country water park near Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. It was originally going to be called Reflections — A Lakeside Lodge, but that plan was scrapped shortly after the COVID-19 Pandemic. We’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction of this resort, and based on these new aerial photos, it’s looking like it’s on track to be pretty massive!
Looking at an overview of the hotel, it’s easy to see just how big this Disney Vacation Club (DVC) hotel will be. Granted, in comparison to a few non-DVC hotels, such as Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, it’s not as large as those, but we’ll admit that we weren’t expecting this hotel to be this expansive.

Another angle shows that a lot of the base construction on the hotel itself is reaching completion, but it’s additional things, such as pools, parking lots, decor, and more, that are the focus now. Of course, we can’t see what’s going on inside right now, but we’ve got a feeling that if work isn’t happening alongside other construction, it may be on the docket for later this year.

We’ve also got a great look at the villas coming to this hotel, which remind us a bit of the ones you see at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, since they’re close to the water. We can’t wait to see what they look like when they’re complete!

Also, look at that entrance! It’s looking amazing already, and we’re looking forward to seeing if it matches the concept art when it’s complete.

Disney is also working on constructing a boat dock, indicating to us that you will indeed be able to take boat transportation to at least one location (most likely Magic Kingdom).

Construction is also underway on what looks to be a lazy river, which will be SEPARATE from the main pool, which we cannot wait to experience. This will be the second hotel lazy river on Disney World property, and we can’t wait.

Speaking of the main pool, it looks like there’s another pool being built closer to the middle of the hotel.

“First hotel lazy river”? I could’ve sworn that Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club has a lazy river.
You are correct, Toby!
It sounds amazing but such a shame they had to destroy the aesthetic of Fort Wilderness Campground to build it.
