Disney World is changing at a rate we haven’t seen in our lifetimes! New attractions are coming, classic rides are getting a new theme, and that’s just scratching the surface.

Three of the Disney World parks are also getting brand-new lands for us to enjoy! We are excited to see what’s in store for us, but it also means losing lands we love dearly. Disney has now filed another new permit for construction in DinoLand U.S.A.!
We’re constantly on the hunt for changes around Disney World, and this new permit is a signal for even more changes to come. In a Notice of Commencement filed on December 5th, 2025, Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit for changes in Animal Kingdom.

The permit details General Construction as the main focus for 600 Dinoland Drive, Bay Lake, FL, 32830. The address looks to be at the entrance of Dinosar, the only attraction remaining in DinoLand. The popular dark ride is being transformed into an Indiana Jones-inspired attraction.

The Animal Kingdom land has been closing in phases, with the first round of closures taking place in January 2025. Since then, other restaurants and the play area have closed permanently to make way for the new Tropical Americas-themed land, Pueblo Esperanza. The new land will also include rides inspired by Encanto in addition to the Indiana Jones ride.

Disney has confirmed DINOSAUR will close on February 2nd, 2026, to make way for the new attraction, which is expected to open in 2027. The permit shows that Disney is wasting no time in beginning work on the upcoming attraction! Disney has been hard at work on the rest of the new land for most of 2025, and even hit a major milestone in December.

The contractor listed on the permit is The Whiting-Turner Company, which has been a long-time contractor for Disney. The expiration date on the permit is one year from the start date, which indicates that this permit is for site prep work and not the full retheme. “General Construction” also doesn’t hint at too much, so we’ll be keeping a close eye on more news to come.

Disney hasn’t shared too much on what to expect for the new attractions, but they have shared that DINOSAUR’s replacement will follow “the man with the hat” during a time when he has “recently discovered a perfectly preserved Maya temple, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to explore it. He’s heard rumors about a mythical creature deep within the temple — and he’s got to see it for himself. So, he brings us along on the adventure… but will there be snakes? We’ll just have to wait and see.”

The new land will also feature a carousel, shopping, and dining options, with Disney sharing that “there’s a large hacienda which will be one of the largest quick-service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort.” We are so sad to be saying goodbye to DinoLand, but we can’t wait to see what Disney creates! As always, be sure to keep following AllEars for more.
