Disney World Just Quietly Reopened This Magic Kingdom Ride Early

Disney World is under a lot of construction right now. New lands are coming to the parks, including new rides, a new expansion is being built in Magic Kingdom, some rides are getting big updates, and some rides are getting routine maintenance.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic

One of those attractions that just recently got routine maintenance is Mickey’s PhilharMagic, which closed on November 1st. The ride wasn’t set to reopen until November 23rd, but we’ve got great news: Mickey’s PhilharMagic has reopened early!

Mickey’s PhilharMagic closed earlier this month for a refurbishment (aka some routine maintenance) and wasn’t scheduled to reopen until November 23rd. However, as of today, the ride is showing hours, so it’s reopened five days early. So if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom this week, you might want to rearrange your plans to make time for it.

Of course, if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom, you might also want to know about other closures affecting the park. In Frontierland, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is currently undergoing a complete overhaul, and is expected to stay closed until 2026 (but it’s going to look a little different when it reopens). Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Liberty Square Riverboat are permanently closed as Disney builds its new Cars expansion, Piston Peak.

In Tomorrowland, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is closed as it also gets some big updates, including a new scene and updated ride vehicles.

So if you’re visiting Magic Kingdom, you’ll want to be prepared for those closures and plan accordingly.

We’ll also keep an eye out for more closures and reopenings, so check back with AllEars again soon for more.

  1. We were at WDW last week and were disappointed that the Philharmonic was closed.
Always changes including Monsters Land (or whatever) in Hollywood.
Loved the new Villians and Tiana and Test Track (how can you beat the single rider?) Rat was down at rope drop.
Opened up later and we got in line for single rider. One person in front of us to go on, then ride shut down.
We were also evacuated from Toy Story Mania half way through the ride.
