NEWS: Disney Announces Boat Transportation Closure at Popular Hotel

With all the closures around Disney World, you really need a calendar to keep track of all of them! Well, we actually have a calendar you can check for all the refurbishments at Disney World, but we’re adding something new to the list that you should know about before booking your Disney World hotel.

Wilderness Lodge

One of the major perks of staying at a Disney World hotel is the free transportation. From the monorail, Skyliner, boats, and buses, getting to the parks from your hotel has never been easier — until this four-month closure hits this Disney World resort.

From January 12th, 2026, to April 2026, the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance. Boat transportation will temporarily be suspended from January 12th to January 30th.

Wilderness Lodge Boat

Wilderness Lodge is a gorgeous hotel that can feel like a secluded oasis. Because of that, the resort feels really far away from the parks and other hotels. The boat is a great way to go from the resort to Magic Kingdom, but you won’t be able to use it from January 12th to 30th.

Boat transportation

The rest of the dock will continue to undergo refurbishment until April, so you might see and hear additional construction in the area, but the boat is expected to return and continue operating on January 31st. You can use the buses to get to Magic Kingdom and any of the other parks you’re trying to go to.

The Skyliner will also be closed for a bit at the end of January. From January 25th, 2026, to February 31st, the Skyliner will be closed for routine maintenance and refurbishment, and you won’t be able to use the Skyliner at the following resorts:

    • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
    • Disney’s Pop Century Resort
    • Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
    • Disney’s Riviera Resort
Disney Skyliner at International Gateway Station at EPCOT

If you’re staying at these resorts, buses will also be available to get to your next destination. While having a mode of transportation down is frustrating, Disney tries to make sure there are alternative options available.

  1. Is February getting 31 days everywhere in 2026 or is it just at Walt Disney World?
If Disney are waiting for February 31st before they reopen the Skyliner, it may be a long wait..
