Disney World Skyliner Announces Temporary Closure for 2027

Disney World just announced another closure for the Disney Skyliner. We already knew the Skyliner would be closed for maintenance from January 25th through January 31st, 2026, but now we also know when the Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment in 2027.

Disney just announced that the Skyliner will be closed from January 24th through January 30th, 2027. This is great to know if you love planning your Disney World vacation far out! While the Skyliner is closed, there will be complimentary bus service available, but it is always good to know when it will be closed.

The Disney Skyliner connects Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts (on the Generation Gap Bridge), Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Caribbean Beach Resort (the Skyliner’s hub) with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT’s International Gateway. The Skyliner features more than 300 gondolas that are covered in bright colors and character art.

Generally, we see the Skyliner close for refurbishment and maintenance at the beginning of the year. Luckily, Disney usually announces the refurbishment far in advance, so you can plan around the closure or be prepared if you are in Disney World during that time. We love utilizing the Skyliner, but even if it is closed, Disney makes it easy to get wherever you are going around the Disney World Resort!
