Disney Announces Name and Opening TIMELINE for Exclusive NEW Magic Kingdom Lounge

Are you ready for some exciting Magic Kingdom news?!

Frontierland at Magic Kingdom

A lot is changing over in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom! Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America will be going away to make room for new Cars attractions, and a new Villains Land will be added beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. But recently, a classic Frontierland attraction closed so something new could take its place, and now Disney has finally released more details!

Back in June, Disney closed the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, an opening day attraction at Magic Kingdom. You were able to test your wild west shootin’ skills, but Disney decided it was time for the arcade to be replaced.

Taking its place is a Disney Vacation Club lounge, the first and only at Magic Kingdom. At the time of the announcement, Disney didn’t share an opening timeline or a look at what this lounge might be like. However, that has now changed! DVC has officially shared a bit of concept art for the new Frontierland lounge, and it looks mighty fun.

We’re being taken to the Wild West at the McKim’s Mile House, where there’s horse saddles, lots of wood decor, and a giant fireplace! The lounge appears to showcase the best of Frontierland and all it represents, and is appropriately named for a rest area of that time.

For those curious about the name, a mile house is “a roadhouse or rest stop that was established during the Gold Rush to mark a mile from an important destination.” And Sam McKim was an artist who inspired many Disney films and theme park attractions with his drawings. He is best known as the creator of the Disneyland souvenir maps.

DVC members and their guests will exclusively get to enjoy this relaxing space to rest and grab refreshments. The new lounge is set to open by Summer 2025 and will join a variety of other DVC lounges around Disney World, including the one at the Imagination Pavilion in EPCOT.

To visit these lounges, including the Top of the World Lounge at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you must own DVC points, which you can purchase through Disney. DVC members get several perks, including exclusive discounts, access to exclusive events, and being able to use these lounges.

A DVC lounge will be a fun addition to Magic Kingdom for members! We can’t wait to check it out next year.
