No matter how much planning you probably did before your Disney World trip, unfortunately — things can still go wrong.
And, for some very unlucky folks trying to rope drop EPCOT this morning, that’s exactly what’s happening.
We were hoping to rope drop EPCOT this morning — like plenty of other folks — but as 9AM rolled around, no one was being let into the front gate. Ten more minutes passed, and before too long a Cast Member made an announcement that they were experiencing technical delays and would open as soon as possible.
The Cast Members continued, “We are experiencing technical challenges. We do not know why,” and that they were aware this might mean people would be late to dining and other reservations. The announcement also urged guests to be patient with Cast Members as this situation was out of their control.
From our point of view, it looked like an issue with the tap entry points themselves that was causing the holdup. We noticed that there were folks milling about inside the park, so the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT potentially didn’t suffer the same problems.
Luckily, at around 9:20AM, the issue was apparently resolved as Cast Members began scanning people into the park at the front gates.
As of now, Disney hasn’t shared any official updates on the My Disney Experience app that might indicate what folks can do about being late to reservations or missing out on Early Entry and rope drop, but we’ll let you know if that changes.
In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for any additional updates from EPCOT — so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney World news and more!
