Is the Pop Century Hotel the BEST Value Resort in Disney World? It’s Complicated.

Value Resorts are a great deal at Disney World.

Pop Century

While Value Resorts may be the lowest of the three tiers of Disney World hotels, Value Resorts do offer a lot of great perks. Those staying at Value Resorts get to partake in Early Theme Park Entry, can book Lightning Lane reservations seven days in advance, and get to take advantage of the free transportation around the resort. Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a very popular option when it comes to Value Resorts.

Pop Century has heavy theming, complete with giant colorful statues. One of the biggest perks of the Pop Century Resort, besides being more budget-friendly, is its access to the Skyliner. The Skyliner connects both Pop Century and Art of Animation to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, along with the other resorts on the Skyliner line.

Did you know that you can leave reviews of Disney World hotels, attractions, and restaurants on our site? We want to hear from you, and so do other readers! We went through the reviews of Pop Century on our site to see what experiences our readers have had while staying at this resort.

One downside of Pop Century is that the pool does not have a slide. This resort tends to draw families with younger children who may want to have a slide during their pool day. This came up a few times on our site and on Facebook. While this is a downside, we would say it is not out of the ordinary as the three All-Star Resorts, which also fall in the Value Resort tier, do not have slides at their pools either. Pop Century’s next-door neighbor, Art of Animation, is also slide-less at its pools.

While having no slide is a downside, one big perk is that Value Resorts have multiple pools at each resort. No matter what building you are in, you can enjoy all the pools within your resort, giving you more space and options to choose from!

As mentioned before, another big perk of Pop Century is that there is a Skyliner station right at the resort. The Skyliner is a great way to get to and from Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. One reader shared that they were disappointed when they visited Pop Century because the Skyliner was down during their entire five-day stay.

While this is disappointing, sometimes the Skyliner closes for maintenance or due to weather. Before booking your stay, make sure to check the schedule of refurbishments going on all around Disney World.

Dining options are minimal at Pop Century as there is only one food court, as one reviewer pointed out. Now, the Everything Pop Shopping and Dining has a ton of options, but if you are looking for a table-service meal, you are out of luck at all the Value Resorts.

The good news is if you want to try a table service meal, you can simply hop on the Skyliner and check out the options at the Riveria Resort or the Caribbean Beach Resort. You can even take the Skyliner to EPCOT and check out the EPCOT area resorts

While it may be more convenient to have another restaurant at Pop Century, other great dining options are just a Skyliner ride away.

We also mentioned that this resort is heavily themed, which makes it a great spot for families with children. However, this does mean that sometimes the resort can be loud and crowded.

Regardless, many reviewers gave this resort 10 out of 10 stars and said that they love it and the theming is excellent.

Overall, according to reviews on our site, Pop Century gets 7.91 out of 10 stars and would be recommended by 88% of people. While Pop Century does have its flaws, it offers many great benefits.

  1. My family and I just came back from staying at POP two weeks ago. We were there for a week and it was good stay, the food court being in the middle of construction was not a problem at all. We mobile ordered the food and it was ready with no problems a short time later. Seating was never a problem either. I actually liked staying here more than AOA which we stayed at last year, POP is easier to get around and laid out better in opinion. Overall we would absolutely stay there again. The trips over to the Caribbean Beach resort via the skyliner was enjoyable and quick, the food options there was a bit better so we just went over to eat a few times. The room as very clean as well and house keeping was very friendly and helpful. If you need a resort to sleep, shower and take a break you couldn’t ask for more. Would def recommend this resort
