NEWS: Disney Files 3 Permits for DinoLand, U.S.A. Ahead of Transformation

Disney announced that DinoLand, U.S.A. would be permanently leaving Animal Kingdom.

DinoLand U.S.A

The dinosaur-themed land is getting replaced by a Tropical Americas land which will showcase an Encanto ride and an Indiana Jones ride as well as a carved carousel. The new land is expected to open in 2027, according to Disney, with construction beginning this fall, and we think we just found a clue about the beginning of this work.

We spotted three new permits for areas of DinoLand, U.S.A. The permits are all three for the same type of work at three backstage buildings. They are to provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction, so they’re pretty general permits.

These permits may be the beginning stages of the construction work to begin on these buildings and DinoLand. They all expire one year from the date they were filed which was August 29th, so they likely aren’t for any major work other than preparing for the construction coming. The buildings for the permits appear to be three backstage buildings as you can see depicted by the arrows below.

The permits are for construction work to be done by Buena Vista Construction Company which is owned by Disney.  Seeing permits showing up now for construction on this area is not surprising if Disney still plans to begin work on the new land this fall.

We had seen some permits pop up a while back, but these three are the latest for the Animal Kingdom area.

Disney shared that we will have plenty of time to “save that dino” and ride Dinosaur one more time, but we are prepared to start seeing the beginning of construction work here soon.
