We’re STILL reeling from every bit of Disney news that dropped during the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Experience.

There were just SO many announcements made for the for Disney parks, Disney Cruise Line, and Disney gaming, so since you’re working on your next Disney World travel plans, we thought we would put all of the Disney World park news in one place so that you can see what will be impacting your 2025 Disney World trip!
Here are the announcements that WILL DEFINITELY impact your 2025 Disney World trip!
Two New Lounges
First up, we’ve got a Pirates of the Caribbean Lounge coming to Magic Kingdom! We have had indications about this for a while, but now we’ve got new concept art, and we can look forward to a “sea-worthy selection of grogs and grub” at this new tavern. Disney announced that this new lounge will be open in 2025!

Disney also announced that a new lounge inspired by Spaceship Earth will be coming to EPCOT in 2025. The new lounge will be inspired by the “stories, shapes, and enduring legacy” of Spaceship Earth.

As you can see in the concept art, there will be a lot of rich textures and warm metallic tones which definitely gives “mysterious and elegant intimacy.” This lounge will be in the Spaceship Earth event space and will have an incredible view of the fireworks and World Celebration!
Now, the construction of these lounges shouldn’t affect you for the most part if you’re traveling to Disney World while they’re still under construction. But if you want to visit them, you’ll have to wait until Disney gives us word as to their official opening dates.
Test Track Timeline
If you remember, Test Track was closed for refurbisment back on June 17th, 2024 and now, we know that the “reimagined” Test Track will be opening in 2025.

More details about the re-imaging were given. For example, the ride will celebrate “today’s innovation while highlighting the past, present, and future.” You’ll experience six distinct exhibits to celebrate both the vehicles and the people behind the vehicles as you move through the new queue.

There will be brand-new show scenes that showcase the technological advancements, and you’ll get to ride through the scenic outdoors to celebrate the joys of taking in the world around us and spending time with family and friends. We’re also really excited to see how reminiscent of the original pavilion design the new exterior will be.
Again, the ride is set to open in 2025, but we’ll just have to wait for confirmation from Disney on the exact opening date.
Zootopia Show Timeline
We finally got an update that the new show replacing “It’s Tough To Be a Bug” will be called Zootopia: “Better Zoogether“ and will debut at Animal Kingdom in winter 2025!

At the moment, Disney hasn’t shared how much construction will need to take place nor when “It’s Tough To Be a Bug” show will close, but we can be sure that the Tree of Life Theater will be under construction for a significant length of time in 2025.
Tropical Americas Land
Disney announced that the construction for this new Tropical Americas Land will begin THIS FALL (2024) on the 11-acre section of Animal Kingdom which is currently DinoLand, U.S.A. The new land is set to open in 2027 (the work will be done in phases). Disney also revealed that this land will feature a fictional village called Pueblo Esperanza.

The new land will feature three new attractions. The first is a new Indiana Jones-inspired ride that has a brand-new storyline (different from the one at Disneyland Park) and will take visitors inside a Mayan temple.

Also, a new Encanto-themed ride-through attraction is coming to the land! This ride will take you inside the Casita, where you’ll encounter characters from the film.

Disney is also adding a carousel in this new land, and we know one of the characters on the ride will be Kevin from UP!
Cars Land
Disney announced that a new area inspired by Pixar’s Cars will be coming to “a reimagined section of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.”

The area (where Tom Sawyer’s Island and Rivers of America currently are) will feature two new Cars attractions. One will be a “thrilling rally race through the mountains” and the other attraction will be a more family friendly ride so that even the youngest family members can enjoy it.

At the moment, we know that construction begin will begin in 2025, but we have no indication when the land will be open.
Monsters, Inc. Land
Disney announced that a brand new Monsters, Inc. Land is coming to Hollywood Studios! The new land will pick up after the events of the original movie, and you’ll even be able to visit the iconic factory itself.

Also, this land will feature the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park and we’re here for it!

Currently, there are no specifics as to where this land will be located. There are rumors that it could replace either Animation Courtyard or Muppets Courtyard. We know the construction will begin in 2025, but we’ll have to wait on Disney to find out the location and when it will ultimately open.
Villains Land
Lastly, Disney announced that a Villains Land is coming to Magic Kingdom! It will be home to two major attractions, dining options, and shopping offerings on an “incredibly twisted grand scale.”

It looks like work is already underway for this new land beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom, but we’ll still have to wait for more specifics from Disney like when they’ll break ground and when it will be open.

Those are the brand-new announcements that WILL impact your 2025 Disney World trip! Until then, keep following AllEars for all the latest Disney news!

I fervently object to the plan to bulldoze Tom Sawyer’s Island and the Rivers of America to make way for Cars Land. Yes, let’s replace a peaceful and beautiful part of classic Disney….complete with trees and waterways….to build a hot, loud, concrete, crowded, and frenetic replacement. Fortunately, you can still enjoy Tom Sawyer’s Island and the Mark Twain Riverboat at California’s Disneyland. That park is much more respectful of its original, classic rides. They have been able to keep the old, dearly-beloved attractions, while at the same time make substantial additions to the park. The Magic Kingdom could learn a lot from Disneyland!
