Welcome to Hollywood Studios! There is a lot to love at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can take a drop on the Tower of Terror, watch Anna and Elsa sing your favorite songs from Frozen, or join the resistance on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.Â
We want to make sure you have the best day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios so we are trying out some tricks.
We love testing out tricks and trying to find the best tips to make the most of your time at Disney World. We are in the parks every single day, so we thought we would test out some tricks at Hollywood Studios to see if they are worth your time. We tried out six different tricks, and we found that four of them worked!
1. Snack Around the Park
Hollywood Studios isn’t necessarily known for having stellar quick service options. While you can still find some yummy food in the park, we found that snacking our way around the park was the best way to go!
Instead of committing to getting a full meal from a quick service restaurant, we got snacks from various places around the park. Some of our recommendations are the Ronto Wrap from Ronto Roasters, Totchos from Woody’s Lunch Box, the Bavarian Pretzel from BaseLine Tap House, and the PB&J Milkshake from the Tune-In Lounge.Â
2. Head Upstairs in PizzeRizzo
All the cool kids head upstairs at PizzeRizzo. While the quick service restaurant may not have the best food you can find at Disney World, it does offer something that most restaurants don’t have: an upstairs area.
The upstairs area in PizzeRizzo is where you need to be if you are planning on eating there. The area is usually not as crowded as the downstairs, but it still has glorious air conditioning. It is a great spot for a break or to enjoy some food!
3. Do Some Research for Toy Story Mania
We are all for this! It is definitely not necessary to do research, but if you are hoping to beat others in your party, looking up a few pointers will greatly help your score! There are lots of secrets to getting the best score on Toy Story Mania, and spending a few minutes looking at them can make all the difference.
In fact, we have a whole post about Toy Story Mania secrets to level up your score! We walk through each of the games during the attraction and let you know how you can score the most points. Be ready to wow your party members with your score!
4. Have Break Time in Star Wars Launch Bay
A definite yes! Even if you aren’t a Star Wars fan, Star Wars Launch Bay has so much more to offer. You can meet lots of Star Wars characters, but it is also the perfect spot for a bit of a break.
The area is usually relatively quiet and has wonderful AC. Plus, it is indoors so it also gets you out of the sun. Bonus points that you can also meet some pretty great Star Wars characters and explore some Star Wars displays, but that is completely optional.
5. Relying on the Single Rider Line to Ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
We spotted a single rider line at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance recently and thought that this could be a great way to experience the attraction without waiting so long. However, there are a couple of downsides. First of all, the Single Rider line skips a lot of the pre-shows, so you will be missing a lot of the story. If you have ridden the ride before and don’t mind skipping the pre-shows (you come in where all the Stormtroopers are), this could be a good way to have a reduced wait.
As well, when we spotted the line recently, Cast Members let us know that they are ONLY testing the queue and it won’t necessarily be a permanent addition. That testing seems to have ended for now. That means that you won’t be able to count on the Single Rider Line being an option all the time.
6. Wait Until the Last Minute to Get in Line for Fantasmic!
There is lots to see and do in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so it only makes sense to pack in as much as possible, right? Well, to an extent. But if part of your plans include planning on heading to Fantasmic! last minute, then you have a bit of rearranging to do.
There are some nights where you will be fine showing up last minute, but don’t plan on that being the norm. If you are wanting to see Fantasmic! plan to show up at least 30 minutes prior to the showtime so you have a good chance of getting in. Do note that during really busy seasons (like the holidays) you will likely need to show up even more than 30 minutes ahead of time.

Tried to order a PB&J milkshake from the Tune In Lounge this spring and was told it hasn’t been on the menu for years. Was this a misinformed bartender? Should we try again?
Hi Tracy! It’s still on the menu at 50s Prime Time Cafe next door and we haven’t had an issue getting it at Tune-In Lounge so it very well may be a case of misinformation.
