Many people opt to fly into Orlando International Airport for their Disney World vacation. The airport is under an hour away from the theme parks and offers many airlines to get you there. But now when travel is up, one airline is canceling a route.

In an email to OBJ, American shared, “As part of the continuous evaluation of our network, American will reduce service from Austin starting in October. American will continue to offer customers access to our comprehensive global network of more than 350 destinations with one-stop connections. We’re proactively reaching out to impacted customers and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Orlando is one of five destinations that the airline is halting non-stop service to. Other destinations include year-round service to Las Vegas, NV, and New Orleans, LA as well as seasonal service to Palm Springs, CA, and Reno, NV.

If you do still plan on flying directly to Orlando from Austin, other airlines still offering services are Delta Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Spirit Airlines. Another option from Austin would be to drive the 2 and a half hours to Houston to catch flights from there to Orlando.

Many airlines offer flights to Orlando International Airport from several locations including International airports. Finding flights to Disney World is typically easy to do. Another airport option to fly into is the Sanford International Airport, however, it is a bit further away from Disney World than MCO.
