Even Disney Parks aren’t safe from scams, although the scams will always originate from outside The Walt Disney Company itself.

For example, the pizza flyer scam at Disney World hotels has been a thing for a while. There are also a lot of travel scams for everything from airfare to hotel rooms. There are a lot of ticket scammers, too, including those who would sell you bogus tickets to Disney theme parks and events. The latter is what we want to warn you about, especially if you’ve been looking for tickets to one of Disney’s biggest Halloween events.
Oogie Boogie Bash is one of THE most sought-after event tickets in Disneyland. The annual event takes place at Disney California Adventure on select nights in August, September, and October. Tickets generally sell out pretty quickly for the event, so if you don’t manage to get a ticket, you’re just out of luck. However, you’ll still find tickets on sale online at places like StubHub.

According to The Orange County Register, more than 600 tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash are being sold on StubHub for $134 to $189, with some as high as $900. There’s just one HUGE problem with that: Disney does NOT allow Oogie Boogie Bash tickets to be resold.

Disney is also cracking down on these kind of resells, too. If they can figure out who is selling the tickets, the tickets could be revoked, meaning that if you buy from a reseller, you could be risking paying a lot of money for tickets that are no longer valid. In other words, buyer beware. Disney has worked with StubHub in the past to figure out who’s reselling tickets.

According to the Disneyland website: Disneyland tickets are non-transferable and may not be sold, theme park reservations are also void if transferred or sold, Disney can cancel tickets at any time for any reason, and tickets are non-refundable. It’s spelled out pretty clearly on the website.

Tickets sold out in just 11 days, so if you didn’t get a ticket, you can still buy the Oogie Boogie Bash VIP Tour, which can get up to eight people into the party with a tour guide for eight hours, as well as priority access to Villains Grove, reserved viewing for the Frightfully Fun Parade, and food, drinks and exclusive merchandise. However, that could run you anywhere from $7,500 to $8,500 depending on the date.

Otherwise, you can still enjoy Halloween Time in Disneyland without tickets to the party. During Halloween Time, both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are decorated for Halloween and you can meet characters in their Halloween costumes. You’ll also be able to indulge in a lot of Halloween snacks.
