It’s time to activate Halloween mode. Scary music? Check. Pumpkin decorations? Check. Halloween costume? In progress. We are READY for the fall season to begin at Disney World — are you?

One of the best parts about Halloween in Disney World is the exclusive Halloween party at Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This spooky after-hours event is full of FUN activities, like a trick-or-treat trail, rare character meet-and-greets, and (our favorite part) an exclusive Halloween parade! But this year, the party will look slightly different. Here’s why!
There’s a brand-new ride open now in Magic Kingdom. It’s called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and it replaced Splash Mountain in Frontierland. The ride currently uses a virtual queue in lieu of a traditional standby line, but Disney hinted that this may change later. If you aren’t able to join the free virtual queue, you can also use Disney’s paid skip-the-line service to book a reservation to hop in line.

But what will happen with this ride during after-hour events, like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? Well, the answer has been confusing, to say the least. At first, Disney released a list of all the rides and shows that will be open during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was on the list. But then, Disney quietly removed the ride from the list a few days later. Here’s the before…

…and here’s the after. Now, we didn’t want to go and count Tiana’s Bayou Adventure out too quickly, so we kept our eyes out for more information.

Well, Disney still hasn’t made any official announcements about what’s happening with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but we may have spotted a clue!

The Disney World website has a special page for Magic Kingdom’s new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure ride. Here, you’ll find things like the height requirement and hours of operation. When we checked the calendar to see what time the ride would be open on a party night, we noticed that the ride is listed as OPEN during the event!

After checking several party dates (The party officially kicks off on August 9th and runs through October 31st), we noticed that the ride is listed as open during every Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party event.

Now that is interesting! As we said, Disney has not made any official announcements about how the ride will operate during the event, so we’re still waiting for more information about what to expect. Will party guests still need to join a virtual queue to ride? Will Disney use a standby line? We’ll have to wait and see!

Either way, this seems like a VERY good sign that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be up and running during the party! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
