There’s a MAJOR Problem with the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Virtual Queue at Magic Kingdom

You’re ready to have the best day ever at Magic Kingdom — there’s just one burning question standing in your way.

Cinderella Castle

Since the debut of Disney World’s newest ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which requires either a virtual queue or Lightning Lane to ride, it’s easy to feel like you could be torn between it and TRON Lightcycle / Run. Which is why we think there’s a huge problem with the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure virtual queue…

Magic Kindom reigns supreme when it comes to the number of rides within a single Disney World park. Seriously, this place has almost any kind of ride to please all kinds of ages. But, two of the most popular — and newest — rides at this park are only available via virtual queue. So, is it possible to ride both TRON and Tiana’s on the same day?

In case you’re not familiar with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure…

…AND TRON Lightcycle / Run, these rides are only available via virtual queues right now. Since each of these rides doesn’t currently offer a standby queue option to ride, this (or a paid Lightning Lane through purchasing Genie+) will be the only way you’re able to ride either attraction.

TRON Lightcycle / Run

This is the first time that there have been two virtual queue attractions in one park. The way the virtual queues work is the same for both TRON and Tiana’s — there are 7AM and 1PM drops — which essentially means you’ll have to choose which attraction you want to ride. We spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that as of now, you cannot hold a virtual queue for both rides. This isn’t that surprising, as Disney World only allows visitors to hold one virtual queue at a time.

We tested this theory ourselves after snagging a boarding group during the 7AM Tiana’s virtual queue drop. By the time the 1PM virtual queue drop opened, our boarding group for Tiana’s had still not been called — but when we tried to confirm our party to get the 1PM TRON drop, the app told us we weren’t eligible.

You could potentially get a virtual queue for one ride at 7AM, ride it, and then grab the other virtual queue during the 1PM drop — but it would be hard to time that right. Of course, you can always try for the virtual queue for one ride and get the Lightning Lane for the other, just keep in mind that TRON is an Individual Lightning Lane (Lightning Lane Single Pass) while Tiana’s is part of the standard Genie+ (Lightning Lane Multi-Pass) option.

If you want your best bet of riding both attractions (though keep in mind this isn’t a guarantee since you never know when virtual queues or Lightning Lanes will sell out!) we’d recommend trying to grab a virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and purchase the Individual Lightning Lane/Lightning Lane Single Pass for TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Ready to ride?

For now, there is NO standby line for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. That means the only two ways you can ride it for the time being are to either book a Lightning Lane via Genie+, or to get a spot in the Virtual Queue.

The Virtual Queue spots for new attractions tend to go FAST (we’re talking literal seconds like on opening day), so be sure to have the My Disney Experience app downloaded well ahead of time. Plus, you’ll also want to have the app pulled up and ready to go before the Virtual Queue opening time.

TRON Lightcycle / Run

Spaces in the Virtual Queue are limited and are not guaranteed, so again, make sure you’re ready to go as soon as they open at 7AM and 1PM! Also, note that all boarding groups might not be called based on attraction availability, so even if you snag a spot in the Virtual Queue, there’s a chance you might not be able to ride.

  1. I have a question rather than a comment. If a couple is going to Disney World and plan to try for virtual slots, can they both try for the spots for an attraction at the same time on their separate phones? Or can only one phone be set up for the party and only one phone try for the spots? Thanks.

    1. Hi Cathy! In our experience, when attempting to use more than one account, the app can glitch causing neither one you to get into the queue. We recommend only using one account for this reason. You’ll just need to make sure all the party members are linked to the person who is using their account to secure the Virtual Queue.
