Is the Country Bear Jamboree Closure Impacting the Magic Kingdom? Here’s What We’ve Seen So Far.

You know the old saying, “When one door closes, another one opens.“? Well, it seems like Magic Kingdom is running out of doors to open because the wait times around the park are looking a little higher now that the Country Bear Jamboree is closed.

Magic Kingdom has a TON of attractions, but the fewer attractions that are open at one time, the fewer places people have to go! So, now that one more Disney attraction is closed, what do the wait times look like around the park? Let’s find out!

OK, first, let’s back up for a second to catch you all up. Last night, Magic Kingdom closed the doors to a classic Disney World attraction called the Country Bear Jamboree. As the name implies, the show featured some country tunes played by musical bears in Frontierland. Although the show was a Magic Kingdom classic, many fans agreed it was time to be revamped.

The show closed on January 27th, 2024 for refurbishment. So far, we know that the new, updated show will feature some familiar characters and NEW music. Here’s a peek at the concept art for the show.

On the last day that the attraction was open, we saw TONS of Disney fans flock to Magic Kingdom to catch one final show.

Look at those crowds!

Now that the show is officially closed, we noticed that Frontierland is looking EXTRA empty. Keep in mind that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (the new attraction set to replace Splash Mountain) is still under construction, too, so Big Thunder Mountain is one of the only rides in the area that is still open.

There’s also a new stage in front of the now-closed Country Bear Jamboree. There are signs asking guests to stay off the stage, but we’re really curious to see what this could be for!

For reference, here’s a look at the Magic Kingdom wait times on January 24th, 2024 at around 3:15PM. At this time, the Country Bear Jamboree show was still open, and the wait times for some of those popular attractions were between 50-60 minutes.

As you can see, wait times aren’t too different from when Country Bear Jamboree was open, but we are in one of the slower times of the year. Many guests opt to skip Magic Kingdom’s shows for other classic thrill rides and attractions, but those wait times could start to increase as this closure continues into the busier seasons.

Guests were given free posters for the new Country Bear Jamboree show debuting this summer.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, Liver Lips McGrowl, Big Al, Wendell, and Shaker were still out and about in Frontierland.

Wendell is still roaming Magic Kingdom!

We’ll continue to monitor the Magic Kingdom wait times to see if the Country Bear Jamboree closure impacts the other wait times. Oh, and if you’re looking for MORE Magic Kingdom news, check out our video below!
