Something Is MISSING From Disney World’s Haunted Mansion Ride

Yes, we are obsessed with Disney World’s Haunted Mansion and we are NOT sorry about it. We’ve collected our share of Haunted Mansion merchandise, and we’ve been to the attraction more times than we can count. So we can pick up on things that change on the ride, and today, well, something BIG is missing on Haunted Mansion.

During our recent visit to Magic Kingdom, we decided to take a ride on the old classic — the Haunted Mansion! As our Doom Buggy was rolling through the Endless Hallway scene, we noticed it looked different than usual. Something was missing!

Usually, you see a candelabra floating in the Endless Hallway, but today, the candelabra is gone. What’s going on here? Did it need some fixing? Does this have something to do with Hatbox Ghost’s arrival? The ghost is actually right next to the hallway, after all. He looks like a troublemaker, so it wouldn’t surprise us if he were to blame.

Disney hasn’t stated whether or not this is a temporary change. It’s possible that Disney was just dealing with a small technical difficulty that needed to be fixed.

In the meantime, as we mentioned, you can now see a few new additions to Haunted Mansion, including Hatbox Ghost. A tiny Candle Man is also now part of the attraction, although you’ll need keen eyes to spot him. Candle Man was once part of the concept for a “Museum of the Weird,” originally intended for the entrance to the Haunted Mansion.
