There are few Disney World attractions as iconic as the Haunted Mansion.
Disney adults can’t stop quoting the Ghost Host’s lines, ride merchandise can be found all over the parks and online, and it almost always has a line. And for good reason! We rode the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom recently and noticed something new (and quite spooky!)… .
We want to preface this post by letting you know that it is NOT the Hatbox Ghost, unfortunately. However, that Happy Haunt is set to appear in the ride sometime in November!
The change we noticed involves this little figure. It’s hard to make out since the ride is so dark, but that is the Candleman!
The Candleman was designed by Rolly Crump, a Disney legend and Imagineer who passed away earlier this year. This figure was meant to be featured in the Museum of Weird at Disneyland, however, this attraction was never built.
Next time that you ride Haunted Mansion, be sure to check out the Candleman! You can spot it in the attic scene.
