Disney World’s After Hours events are an awesome time and something we recommend experiencing once — but that doesn’t mean they’re all sunshine and daisies.

After Hours events can be great if you’re looking to avoid daytime crowds and catch shorter wait times. They’re especially ideal if you’re looking to stay out of the heat during a particularly hot and humid day in Central Florida. With that said, there is still one MAJOR weather concern you could still face at After Hours events right now.
On select nights this year at Disney World, several parks are hosting separately ticketed Disney After Hours Events. Recently, we attended one at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and while we really enjoyed the access to rides, complimentary snacks, and character meet and greets, there was one big caveat — it was super cold!

The park was nearly empty and while that comes with a ton of upside, there is a freezing downside to it, as well. Despite what you might think, nights in Florida during the winter get surprisingly chilly!

The short wait times definitely warmed us up a bit, but unless you’re prepared for how cold it can get, you could be in for a chilling revelation. If you plan on attending an After Hours event soon, we recommend bringing some warmer clothes to get you through the cold evenings. Once the sun sets, Disney World’s weather becomes a whole new beast. We had to bundle up with jackets over our sweatshirts — that’s how cold it can get.

Regardless of the cold, we STILL recommend attending if you get the chance. The event was a ton of fun, just prepare in advance with thick jackets or coats, maybe a pair of gloves, and even potentially a scarf or other warm accessories. After all, we want you to be able to enjoy the After Hours events to the fullest without freezing your mouse ears off!

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest Disney World events as well as news on all things Disney so be sure to stay tuned right here at AllEars!
