If you’ve been to Disney World once or twice, odds are that you’ve experienced at least one ride-related issue. Rides break down, stop unexpectedly, and close for refurbishment all the time. It’s not easy keeping all those rides in perfect working order, after all!
That’s the thing about Disney World attractions — they’re super unpredictable. Even when you think you know when a ride is set to reopen, Disney may throw you a curveball…
The Haunted Mansion attraction was closed for a short refurbishment and was set to reopen on August 10th.
Although we were all ready to visit those playful spooks on August 10th, we noticed something strange. According to the My Disney Experience app, the attraction was still listed as “Temporarily Closed” when Magic Kingdom opened.
We decided to pop over to Liberty Square to make sure it was really closed. When we reached the Haunted Mansion, we noticed that there were several Cast Members standing outside the attraction.
A Cast Member informed us that the ride was closed. Looks like the ghosts didn’t want to materialize quite yet! Cast Members reminded us to keep checking the My Disney Experience app to be notified when the ride reopens.
