TRON Lightcycle / Run is the latest Disney World ride and the opening date will be here before we know it!
We got the opportunity to ride this new roller coaster last month, and we’ve done our best to answer all your questions about the experience. But what’s next for Disney? According to some Disney executives, TRON is only the beginning.
According to the Orlando Business Journal, the Walt Disney Co. chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, Josh D’Amaro, shared his excitement about the new ride when he visited on March 6th. To be specific, he said the Imagineers and the entire creative team are “incredibly ambitious about the experience” in Disney World and shared how it will “continue to transform.”
TRON is now one of the fastest rides in Disney World, traveling up to 60 mph. D’Amaro shared his excitement about guests’ reactions — he said “You see the guests walking off that experience … the look on their faces — and it adds to the whole experience we offer here. But there’s no end…Tron is the tip of the iceberg of what’s coming.”
With that statement, D’Amaro is alluding to the new projects Disney has coming up — Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and the other projects that have been teased.

Is the look on people’s face after getting off tron disappointment? I did not see anyone with any other expression. Heard lots of people verbally expressing their disappointment as well. 5 years for that is a joke.
