Flooding Reportedly CLOSES a Disney World Attraction Unexpectedly

Disney World has experienced its fair share of problems lately.

A fire broke out on a fireworks platform in EPCOT, popular rides have unexpectedly closed, and we’ve seen some rides evacuated. But now another attraction appears to have been impacted by some unexpected issues.

While we were in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we spoke with a Cast Member who informed us of some things that had impacted the theater where For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration is held.

The Cast Member indicated that the first two performances of the day (on October 28th) took place, but then a pipe burst and reportedly flooded half the theater. When we spoke with a Cast Member at around 3:45PM ET, they indicated that an exit was still flooded.

As a result of the situation, the theater reportedly lost air conditioning, but they were able to get that back up and running again. The Cast Member we spoke to was under the impression that the 4:30PM show would be able to run successfully, but that is not confirmed.

Again, keep in mind that this is what was expressed to us by a Cast Member at the area. We’ll be on the lookout for updates. At the moment, the Disney World app does note that the next showtime is 4:30PM.

Unexpected closures of this kind can happen. It’s important to be prepared for these (as much as possible) for your next trip. But how can you prepare for the unexpected? Well, be sure to discuss the possibility of unexpected closures with little ones so they can be prepared if you do experience that.

You may also want to come up with alternative plans in case you encounter a closure. If going on a particular attraction is critical to you, consider visiting that one early in the morning, before later issues impact it. And check the My Disney Experience app repeatedly for updates.
