No matter how much you plan, how many hours you spend getting the perfect dining reservation, or how much of an effort you make to learn Genie+, your entire Disney World trip could be impacted by a relatively unpredictable thing — the weather.

We’ve seen severe weather impact Disney World before, including hurricanes and tropical storms. If you’re in Disney World right now, there are some weather alerts you should know about.
News 6 has shared that a flood advisory is in effect today (June 8th) until 7:15PM EDT for the two counties within which Disney World is located: Orange County and Osceola County.

What should you do if you happen to visit Disney World and get impacted by severe weather? Well, the best thing is to come prepared. Be sure to pack those rainy day essentials — ponchos/rain jackets, rain-friendly shoes (like Crocs or sandals), and extra socks in case you wear regular shoes and those get soaked.

Keep checking the weather often because things can change.
And, most importantly, (provided that it’s safe for you to be out in the weather) keep in mind that rainy weather doesn’t have to ruin your trip! Click here to read our post all about how to have the BEST rainy day in Disney World, and click here to see photos and videos from a rainy day in the parks so you know what to expect.

You might catch a rainy day parade, get to splash around in puddles, and even hop on rides that are BETTER in the rain!
Just remember that severe weather can shut down some rides and complicate things, so you’ll want to be as flexible with your plans as possible.
