Still waiting on your Hogwarts acceptance letter? We feel that. (It’s totally possible for it to be running over a decade late, right?!)
Lucky for us, we can all still get a taste of Hogwarts over at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal! There, you can hitch a ride with Hagrid, escape from Gringotts, climb aboard the Hogwarts Express, and even find your own wand! And soon, you’ll be able to experience the Wizarding World with a new mysterious experience!
It was recently announced that Harry Potter: Magic at Play will be coming this fall!
According to the Magic at Play website, this experience will allow “wizards of all ages” to “enjoy hands-on magical moments” through a “new interactive experience celebrating Harry’s adventures in discovering the Wizarding World.”
The experience is presented by WB and Superfly X.
UPDATE: We recently got even more details about the experience! The immersive event will be located in Chicago, Illinois and will last from November 11th, 2022 to May 14th, 2023. That’s plenty of time to get in on the Harry Potter fun.
Tickets go on sale on August 3rd, 2022 at 10AM CT, so if this is on your bucket list, set your alarms now. You’ll be able to explore 3 stories worth of Harry Potter inspired experiences, enjoy a Butterbeer or treat inspired by Honeydukes, and shop for exclusive merchandise!
The Superfly X website notes that they work on “transforming the way fans interact with their favorite Entertainment properties.” They’ve already worked on things like The Friends Experience and The Office Experience.
The Friends Experience, for example, lets fans explore recreations of the set, look at original props and costumes, and shop for souvenirs at a store. It is set to tour around the US in 2022.
The office experience is similar. The website notes that through this experience, fans can “Explore 17 areas inspired by [the] TV show. Visit Scranton Business Park, sit at Michael’s desk, recreate Beach Day, and shop custom merch in The Office Experience retail store.” The office experience will be in Washington DC starting July 28th, 2022.
If the Harry Potter Magic at Play experience is anything like Superfly X’s other creations, fans might get the chance to walk into some set recreations, check out props and costumes, and do some shopping too. But, of course, the experience could be very different.
There are very limited details on this experience at the moment, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for any new information!
