Go HERE to Find Rare Characters and Exclusive Offerings in Disney World

It’s time to celebrate a birthday in Disney World, and we’re not talking about the Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary this time! Disney’s Animal Kingdom is gearing up for Earth Day on April 22nd, which is the same day the park opened in 1998. Who’s ready to party (in the most eco-friendly, responsible way, of course)?!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

From new foods and drinks to rare character appearances, there’s a lot to look forward to in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Find out all the ways you can celebrate Earth Week in Disney World.

Earth Week will take place in Animal Kingdom from April 18th to April 24th (Earth Day is officially on Friday, April 22nd). Throughout the week, guests will be able to experience some special events and try some tasty treats!

Characters

Look out for Gypsy from A Bug’s Life during Earth Week! We met her in Discovery Island by the Tree of Life. Isn’t she beautiful?!

She’s stunning!

Keep in mind that Disney isn’t posting any special character meet and greet information on the My Disney Experience app, but you can ask a Cast Member in the area for more information.

Look how beautiful!

Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear are also making appearances by the Tree of Life! Go say hello (and give them a hug) during Earth Week!

These are some pretty rare characters!

And, as you wander around the park, you might stumble upon one of the more unique and unknown characters decked out for Earth week — Divine! Her usually all-green ensemble has received a spring touch with pink, yellow, and purple flowers.

Additionally, there will be a special character cruise on the Discovery River. Look for the hyenas from The Lion King as they sail by on a floatilla!

You never know who you might spot on a floatilla, too!

The floatillas go by every once in a while; there’s no set schedule, so keep your eyes on the water to catch them!

Activities

Calling all Wilderness Explorers! You can receive a special Earth Day Nature badge by completing a limited-time Wilderness Explorer activity.

Disney is introducing some exclusive PhotoPass photos in Animal Kingdom, too! For a limited time, a WALL•E and EVE Magic Shot will be available at the park entrance. Stike your best post with some sweet little robots!
