FIRST LOOK at 'The Little Mermaid' Stage Show Coming to the Disney Wish!

Have you ever wanted to see a new, modern-day retelling of The Little Mermaid?

The Disney Wish, is the newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, scheduled to set sail on its Maiden Voyage on July 14th, 2022. Some of the amenities on the new ship include an Inside Out-themed sweets shop, a Marvel-themed dining experience, a Star Wars lounge, and three new shows, including a theatrical adaptation of The Little Mermaid. Disney just gave us a sneak peek at some of the scenes from this new show, so take a look!

The Disney Wish’s stage show version of The Little Mermaid will feature a newer, more modern version of the story, with a reimagined score and script. There will also be new arrangements for a few famous songs from the film!

The biggest production of the show will be “Under the Sea,” which will feature new choreography, special effects, and puppetry! Sebastian and Flounder will also join the stage, of course. The set design will involve video projections that create the feel of a 360-degree undersea scene!

“Kiss the Girl” will transport the audience into a new version of the song, with an exclusive new element involving Ariel’s inner voice playing an important role in the song, even though she can’t physically speak.

And we saw a sneak peek of the new soulful version of “Poor Unfortunate Souls” at Destination D23 in 2021, where Ursula truly will transform alongside her magic spell.
