ALL the Disney+ Announcements That Just Blew Up Your Twitter Feed

It’s been two years since Disney+ first debuted as the newest streaming service and Disney is celebrating with its annual Disney+ Day!

And, Disney+ subscribers don’t just get to enjoy early park entry and freebies throughout the day in Disney World, we’re also getting tons of details about new upcoming Disney+ releases (including previews!). So, we’re compiling ALL the big announcements so that you can start clearing your calendars for all the family watch parties to come in 2022!

As we’re heading into the winter season, Disney gave us a NEW teaser trailer for the upcoming movie, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild. The next chapter in the Ice Age saga will star Simon Pegg and debut on Disney+ on January 28th, 2022.

But, before we even turn the calendar to the new year, there’s another new movie coming to Disney+ in 2021 — Diary of a Wimpy Kid: New School. Old Cheese. And, we got a first look at the animated film’s poster! It will premiere on December 3rd, 2021.

But, that’s not the only exciting news for fans of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Jeff Kinney (writer and producer) also announced that there will be another animated film following the story of the character Greg Heffley coming to Disney+ in the future too. The new movie will be named Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules.

And, what else is coming in 2022? Well, Disney announced that there will be a NEW version of the Original Movie, Cheaper By the Dozen coming in March 2022…

…and fans of Disney’s original movie Enchanted can finally watch it on Disney+ now, but there’s even more to look forward to! The sequel to the movie, Disenchantedwill be coming to Disney+ in the Fall of 2022 and Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsy made an appearance to share the news.

There are still MORE new movies coming too! A new original movie called Better Nate Than Never will premiere in Spring 2022 and stars Aria Brooks, Michelle Federer, Rueby Wood, Norbert Leo Butz, Lisa Kudrow, and Joshua Bassett…

Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will be BACK just in time for Halloween as part of Hocus Pocus 2 (premiering Fall 2022)…

…the live-action remake of Disney’s Pinocchio (starring Tom Hanks, Cynthia Erivo, Luke Evans and the voices of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key and Lorraine Bracco) will also come to Disney+ Fall 2022

…and Chip ‘n’ Dale are coming BACK to the big screen after 30 years in a reboot of the original Disney movie, Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers in Spring 2022.

And, we also got an official trailer for the brand new series, Baymax, which follows the story of the huggable robot and will debut in summer 2022

…a NEW clip for the upcoming docuseries, The Beatles: Get Backcoming to Disney+ in three parts on November 25th, 26th, and 27th…

…and the official trailer for the series Limitless With Chris Hemsworth (which will stream in 2022).

And, if you need more to add to your watch list, you can check out the official trailer for the National Geographic original series, America The Beautiful (streaming in 2022)

…or watch the trailer for Welcome To Earthwhich will follow Will Smith “to the ends of the Earth (literally) and stream on Disney+ beginning December 8th, 2021.

Plus, there’s also a trailer for the NEW Disney Original Movie, Sneakerella (premiering February 18th, 2022)…

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (an original series streaming February 2022)…

Disney Intertwined (Entrelazados), which is an original series on Disney+ NOW…

Speaking of Star Wars, Disney also released a behind-the-scenes look at the highly-anticipated series Obi-Wan KenobiBut, there’s a catch — you can only watch it on Disney+, so you’ll need to log into your account.

And, if you’re a Marvel fan, then you’ve got A LOT to look forward to over the next year! Disney teased another look at the new Ms. Marvel series (coming in 2022)…

Other Disney+ announcements include a FIRST LOOK at the concept art for the upcoming long-form musical series featuring Tiana and her friends (it will come to Disney+ in 2023)…

…plus a look at the concept art for the new Pixar animated series, Win or Lose (coming Fall 2023).

Fans of Disney’s Zootopia will soon get to head back to the mammal metropolis in the new short-form series, Zootopia+, coming in 2022

…and Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy will return to reprise their roles as Lightning McQueen and Mater in Cars on the Road, streaming in 2022.

And, to wrap up all the Disney+ Day announcements, Disney shared that they will be debuting a new live-action Original Series based on the best-selling children’s book series, The Spiderwick Chronicles.
