You may have been on Disney Cruise Line’s other ships, but the Disney Wish is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before!
The ship will have all kinds of new things aboard including a Star Wars lounge and the very first Marvel dining experience! We’ve already shared some details about the Marvel experience, including how fans will be able to interact with certain features, but now we’ve got some more BIG news for Marvel movie fans.
During a recent media event, we got the chance to learn some awesome new details about Worlds of Marvel — the Marvel-themed dining experience coming to the Disney Wish.
During this dining experience, you’ll get to see Ant-Man and The Wasp during their first public speaking engagement on behalf of the Avengers. Ant-Man and The Wasp are actually showcasing all kinds of powerful super hero technologies as part of this speaking engagement.
Items like Captain America’s shield will be highlighted on the screens around the restaurant. Guests will also get to see field reports, more information about this tech, and even clips from the Marvel movies on the screens all around.
Some of the newest technology, however, will be on your own table. On each table in the restaurant will be a Quantum Core — the latest in Pym Tech. The Quantum Core is HIGHLY unstable, but (when it works) it can make objects grow or shrink with just the tap of a button.
Of course, with every good Marvel story comes a good villain. In this case, it seems we’re not the only ones interested in the Quantum Cores. Ultron (yes, Ultron is BACK!) has his eyes on the Quantum Cores, and it’s going to take a whole lot of super hero and guest help to stop him!
Eventually, a battle ensues and Ant-Man, The Wasp, and their fellow heroes, Captain America and Captain Marvel, fight against Ultron on the upper decks of the ship, while you (the guest) help out by using your Quantum Core.
But, there’s an extra cool special detail about our 4 super hero helpers in this dining experience. Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (The Wasp), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), and Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), have all reprised their roles and filmed special special parts that will be featured as part of this show!
The show’s big action scenes will take place on the upper decks of the ship, all of which was created in photo-realistic CGI for these shots while the ship is under construction. You’ll get to see this action play out in the screens around the restaurant. And you’ll also feel a super hero presence in the restaurant itself with Ant-Man and The Wasp specifically.
In terms of the design of the restaurant, you’ll see lots of clean lines and chrome looks in the style Disney calls Stark-itecture. That look is carried over into the table settings for the restaurant.
The charger plate has that chrome look with the Avengers “A” logo design on it. You’ll also see that Avengers logo on the silverware, napkins, and more. And we love the futuristic, tech-inspired design featured on the tablecloths as well.
Overall, the table design is pretty sleek and clean, with some pops of color through the napkin and Quantum Core.
The Cast Member costumes for this spot are similar in the sense that they’re fairly plain in color, except for some small details. But, their designs give them a very futuristic and clean look.
In terms of food, Worlds of Marvel will feature dishes inspired by locations seen in the movies or places where our favorite heroes are from including Wakanda, Sokovia, New York City, and more.
We’re keeping an eye out for more news about the new Marvel dining experience coming to the Wish and we’ll let you know what we find. In the meantime, get those super hero poses ready, you never know what villains you might find out there!
