Disney World is entering a NEW phase in its ongoing reopening processes because buffets have officially returned to the parks!

While Boma in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was one of the first spots to bring it back, other places like the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom are planning to do the same now too. And now, EPCOT is the next park to see buffets return!
Over in the Germany Pavilion, guests looking for a buffet-style meal can head over to Biergarten! Previously, when the restaurant reopened last year in World Showcase, food was served family-style. Options included pretzel bread, schnitzel, sauerkraut, spaetzle, traditional sausages, rotisserie chicken, and more!

But, now that Biergarten had made a shift back to a buffet, there’s also the change in what items are being offered as well. And, before you head to EPCOT soon, we’re giving you a look at what the new meal experience is like.

The buffets were operating similarly to how they had pre-pandemic, as guests were able to pick and choose what they would like on their plates. However, there is the requirement for guests to wear face coverings now, since the indoor mask mandate still applies in restaurants.

Guests had a WIDE selection of hot and cold plates to choose from, depending on how they wanted to build their meal. Many of the buffet options were focused on German cuisine, like Sauerbraten, Herb Spätzle…

…Pork Roast…

…Warm German Potato Salad…

…Red Cabbage…

…Frankfurter…

…Potato Pancakes…

…Macaroni & Cheese…

…and Peas and Carrots.

Sauces like Mustard, Ketchup, and Applesauce were available on the side too!

The build-your-own salad area was also included in the buffet with fresh choices like Tomato Salad, German Potato Salad, Three Bean Salad, and Macaroni Salad…

…as well as greens and salad dressing.

The big ticket parts of the meal, though, were the incredible entrées available throughout the buffet line! Everyone could indulge in Meatballs with Red Wine Sauce…

…Pork Schnitzel…

…Seasonal Fish with Vinaigrette…

…Green Beans…

…Roasted Chicken…

…Sauerkraut and Roasted Potatoes…

…and a Sausage Selection, including Bratwurst.

But, we know that one of our favorite parts of the meal happened to be the Pretzel Rolls that could be dipped inside….

…Cheese and Beer Soup (a fan-favorite, of course)!

After you’ve finished your meal, you have the choice to treat yourself to dessert options like Apple Strudel…

…Brownies…

…Chocolate Chip Cookies…

…Cheesecake…

…Black Forest cake rolls…

…and a LOT more (you might need a plate or two to try everything!).

We have to say that, even though we enjoyed the family-style version of this meal, we’re excited to see Biergarten’s buffet back with so many unique options you won’t find elsewhere around Disney World!

We’ll keep you updated about other buffets that will be returning to Disney World! Stay tuned with All Ears for the latest dining and Disney news coming soon!

Years ago we spent a most memorable night at the Biergarten with our family celebrating my husband’s birthday. Staff really made him feel special. Miss those perks but glad to see buffet returning.
I think this article should be combined with your article about Florida leading the nation in Covid cases…I mean….a buffet? What could possibly go wrong? People are worried about sharing a table but not a shared buffet? This kind of makes me sick.
What is that yellow macaroni and cheese? They better not have discontinued the Nudelgratin!
Is it back to seating strangers together or does each party get their own table?
I enjoyed this more family style. Less hectic in the restaurant. More time to enjoy the fantastic show and spend time with your party.
