Boma in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has been closed since the pandemic shut down Disney World, but it’s finally back with buffets for breakfast and dinner!

We headed in for breakfast this morning to check out the first buffet back at Disney. Check out what we found!
When Disney announced Boma’s return as a buffet, they also confirmed some of the returning food, like the creamy pap, turkey bobotie, pancakes, waffles, deviled eggs with salmon, and delicious freshly baked items from the Boma bakery. We can’t wait to try them again! So, we made our way over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for our reservation.

When we arrived at Boma, we saw you can either check-in at the front host stand…

…or you can use mobile check-in!

Then, we headed into the restaurant!

The architecture in here is so cool.

It wasn’t too busy when we arrived, there were tables were available!

The host showed us to our table, which is themed to go with the restaurant.

We were ready to eat, so we made our way up to the buffet! All of the buffet is serve yourself rather than a Cast Member serving you.

Here’s what pricing looks like for the buffet:

There is a LOT of food to choose from!

We think we might need more than one plate!

Let’s take a look at all of the food available. There’s oak-grilled tomatoes and asparagus…

…Chakalaka, which is a South African Spicy Tomato Stew, and Pap, which is creamy white cornmeal…

…Turkey Babotie, which is a South African dish with turkey, mushroom, and egg…

…and carved Gerkerf ham…

…which you could use this Boma Mustard on!

There was also oatmeal and coconut steal cut oats…

…which you could put honey, raisins, brown sugar…

…or even banana chips on!

Then, we moved down to some more traditional American breakfast foods, like pork sausage and bacon…

…along with tater tots. They also had West African sweet plantains available — yum!

They, of course, had Mickey Waffles available, and Simba waffles, too.

And if you’re more of a pancake person, you could choose between plain pancakes…

…or blueberry pancakes!

What’s breakfast without some eggs? Boma had scrambled eggs and scrambled eggs with feta, tomato, and spinach…

…as well as Western omelets, cheese omelets, and ham and cheese omelets.

One interesting item available was this avocado, papaya, and grapefruit salad — a super fresh way to start your day!

And there was a lot of other fresh fruit available as well, like watermelon…

…fruit salad…

…and grapes!

Yogurt parfaits were an option, too.

Then, we moved down to the charcuterie area. There were some sliced cheeses and salami and ham, as well as boiled eggs.

And they had those returning deviled eggs with smoked salmon!

If that wasn’t already enough food, check out all of these delicious carbs.

There were sticky buns with pecan praline sauce…

…and French toast bread pudding!

You have the option to drizzle this vanilla sauce over the bread pudding, too.

Also available were these beautiful cinnamon rolls!

You could then get a bagel with whipped butter or peanut butter…

…or croissants with jellies and jams.

Plain bagels and cream cheese were an option as well.

They also had just regular sliced bread for toast, and a toaster you could use for all of these breads.

Wow, that is a lot of food! We managed to get everything back to our table, where we also got some coffee.

Doesn’t this spread look amazing? Time for us to dig in!
