PHOTOS: Splash Mountain Has Been CLOSED All Day in Magic Kingdom

Splash Mountain is considered a must-do attraction by many Disney-goers when they’re visiting Magic Kingdom.

This classic Disney World ride will be undergoing a major re-theming to The Princess and the Frog in the future and will feature a brand new story that follows Princess Tiana through the New Orleans Bayou. And, though the attraction hasn’t closed for refurbishment just yet, guests visiting the parks today may not be able to hop on this popular ride.

When we first arrived in Magic Kingdom this morning, we pulled up the My Disney Experience app and noticed that Splash Mountain was listed as currently unavailable.

And, when we passed by, the drop for Splash Mountain was totally dry and didn’t have any running water.

No water flowing here!

The ride remained closed for the entirety of the morning and in the afternoon we got a message through the My Disney Experience app from the Vice President of Magic Kingdom, Melissa Valiquette, that addressed the Splash Mountain closure.

We also spoke with a few Cast Members who told us that they hoped to have it running by the end of the day, but there was no guarantee.
