When you’re visiting Disney World, you’re bound to stumble upon a construction project or two.

That’s why we keep you up to date on all those closures here at AllEars! Disney has been hard at work getting the parks ready for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary and today we’re bringing you the latest update on everything that will be closed from August 16th to August 22nd, 2021!
Magic Kingdom Refurbishments
Walt Disney World Railroad
If you’ve been following along with us for some time, you likely know that the Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for over 2 years as part of the construction on TRON: Lightcycle Run is currently blocking a portion of the tracks.

And, the closure will extend into next week as well with no reopening timeline announced by Disney just yet.

Main Street Confectionery
And, over on Main Street, U.S.A., the Main Street Confectionery will be closed for another week as Disney transforms the space for the 50th Anniversary.

For now, guests can find many of the classic treats and snacks just down the street at the Main Street Cinema.

Disney World Resort Refurbishments
There will be some closures impacting the Disney World hotels this week too! Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, work is still underway on the monorail station and entrance area, so guests staying at the resort will not have access to both just yet.

And, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort the rooms in the main building are currently closed as they transform with a new Incredibles-themed look! Plus, The Wave…of American Flavors will also be closed this week, as it receives an update for the 50th Anniversary (though the full breakfast menu is currently available at California Grill).

Refurbishments also continue at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort with the closure of the port cochere this week and the main lobby area coming soon. In the meantime, guests can go to curbside check-in at the Disney Vacation Club Preview Center and all front desk and concierge services will be located in the hallway.

Plus, at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney is currently working on the lobby area with the alternating closure of the den area and lobby.

We’ll continue to keep an eye out for other closures taking place at the hotels, so be sure to check back with us!
