It’s no secret that you may be spending a good amount of time waiting in line when you visit Disney World. Throughout the parks, Disney has some pretty impressive ride queues, each themed to its own attraction. And while some of them have interactive elements or hidden details, others are pretty boring.

Today, we’re discussing the Disney World rides with the worst queues!
Pirates of the Caribbean
Let’s kick off this list with the Pirates of the Caribbean queue! Even though it’s a classic ride that you definitely shouldn’t skip, you may find waiting in line here to be less-than-exciting. Even though it fits the theme of the ride, there isn’t much to look at, and a large portion of it is fairly dark as well.

“it’s a small world”
And speaking of classic rides, “it’s a small world” in Magic Kingdom‘s Fantasyland is home to a boring, albeit delightfully colorful, queue. You’ll basically zigzag back and forth in front of the loading zone, so don’t expect much scenery.

Living with the Land
Over at EPCOT, Living with the Land rarely has a long wait. That’s a very good thing, however, because the line itself is incredibly dull. As you can tell from the picture below, it’s basically just rows of poles and ropes in a series of switchbacks in front of a mural. Nothing to see or do here (unless you’re into reading the quotes in the mural), and you’ll be standing pretty close to the rest of the guests in the queue.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Even though the ride is fairly new, most of the queue for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway isn’t all that great. For half of the wait, you’ll be outdoors (sometimes in direct sunlight), and once you go indoors, it’s simply themed to match a theater. Once you make it through the pre-show and into the “cartoon” things start to pick up!

PeopleMover and Astro Orbiter
We included these two rides together on the list because they share a queue space. Both are directly outdoors in the sun and are organized with metal chains and poles. Since the two queues are right next to each other, it may be difficult to tell them apart and figure out just how long the one you’re waiting in is.

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Across the way at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, you’ll have similar issues with half of the line outdoors in the heat. The half that’s indoors doesn’t have any interactive elements or interesting details besides the one Buzz Lightyear animatronic. (We have to admit that he’s pretty cool!)

Space Mountain
Even though Space Mountain‘s line is largely indoors, it’s also in near-darkness and rather boring. Part of the queue is downhill followed by an immediate uphill section, so you’ll definitely be getting in that calf workout. Thankfully, if you wait in this queue long enough, your eyes will be adjusted well for the ride!

Tomorrowland Speedway
Poor Tomorrowland, it has quite a few rides on this list! Not only is Tomorrowland Speedway‘s entire queue outdoors, but you’ll also spend the whole time breathing in the fumes from the ride. Definitely not our favorite way to spend 45 minutes.

Kilimanjaro Safaris
While the ride is certainly worth the wait, you may not have a lot of fun waiting in the queue for Kilimanjaro Safaris. It’s incredibly long and most of it looks similar, so it’ll be hard to tell how far you’ve progressed. Also, even though it’s covered, you’re still outdoors and exposed to the heat.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
And last on our list is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The line is partially “indoors”, but there’s not much airflow inside, so it gets a little hot and stuffy. There are a few interactive elements spread throughout the line, but they’re not always available and they’re not quite as exciting as other interactive queues.

Splash Mountain and Soarin are horrible too. One’s too hot outside and the other just boring.
