Disney’s Newest Cruise Ship Has Hit a Major Milestone!

If you’re a Disney Cruise Line fan, then you’re likely following the progress of the newest ship — the Disney Wish!

Since it was announced, we’ve seen concept art and received more details on when we’ll get to sail on this new ship. We’ve also learned more about the design of the ship, and today, we got some brand new photos!

Today, the new ship has reached a big construction milestone — the traditional keel-laying ceremony. During ship’s construction, when the first block is lowered into the building dock, a newly minted coin is placed under the keel. The newly minted coin that Disney chose for this special occasion features none other than Captain Minnie!

Captain Minnie made her debut aboard Disney Cruise Line ships in 2019 as part of an initiative to inspire the next generation of female leaders in the cruise industry. Now, Minnie Mouse in her captain’s uniform is going to have a special place on the new ship!

Besides her special coin, Captain Minnie is also featured in new artwork on the bow of the Disney Wish. The elegant filigree artwork is a trademark of Disney ships, and adding Minnie Mouse is the perfect touch!
